Welcome!

As a gardener, I like to promote the planting of bee & insect-friendly plants with an organic approach to gardening. I really enjoy creating havens for wildlife, like hedgehog nesting sites, bee houses, leaving plant seed heads for insects & birds. Soil structure is very important to maintain healthy plants & promote good friendly bacteria within the soil. Creating good biodiversity in the garden is important, keeping the garden healthy with the correct balance of pest control with natural predators.

A garden should be a haven for wildlife & humans, a place for peace of mind & happiness.

What I do

Shout Outs

‘Lucy has been tending my garden for 2 years. She is very knowledgeable, knows when to prune shrubs, plant shrubs & when to move them etc. The same with flowers, I have much more colour in my garden now as she divides plants & spreads them around the garden. I am able to leave my Dahlia out in the ground all yr, she mulches it for the winter & I get lots of flowers in summer onwards. I can thoroughly recommend her if you need a gardener.’

‘Lucy White-Simpson has taken care of my garden for 15 years. I have moved a couple of times & she has replanted shrubs for me which have thrived.

Lucys’ knowledge of gardening is extensive & she has always been most helpful when I ask for an unusual plant. I have always been very happy with her, she is a hard worker & I wouldn’t do without her’.

‘Lucy has worked on our garden for over 12 yrs. In that time she has transformed it to an oasis of calm & beauty.
Lucy’s knowledge of knowing what to plant & where has achieved stunning results. Each yr it gets better & better. She teaches you the importance of patience. You learn that each season brings its own beauty.
As someone who had little confidence in how to build a garden I have learnt so much from her.
Can’t wait for what’s to come!’

‘Lucy has been working on my garden since 2019. She’s very knowledgeable about plants, where to place them & how to look after them. Unlike many gardeners, she’s very good at listening to what the client wants. I like a more natural-looking garden with lots of wildlife & that’s what she has achieved. She’s very reliable & easy to work with. I have no hesitation in recommending her.’
‘Lucy planted a small border for my mum. She came & looked at the area & then chatted with mum to get an idea of what she would like. Lucy chose & planted out the plants to make the area look amazing. Great communication & really friendly.
Would highly recommend Lucy to anyone needing garden expertise.’

Hi, I’m Lucy

Your local RHS certified gardener based in Broadbridge Heath, Horsham, West Sussex.

I have been working for myself since 2003. I design planting schemes for borders, offer on-site consultations and horticultural advice. I also maintain existing gardens, offer a holiday plant watering service and grow some of my own plants.

I love all things vintage, especially the 1950’s & 1960’s – design, graphics and fabrics and try to incorporate their influence in my designs for hanging baskets, planters and table decorations.
